Method of experimental determination of the contact pressure on the outer and inner surface of the clamping bush of small-sized chuck with adjustable clamping force

Abstract

There have been examined an external hydraulic device chuck and method of experimental determination in a produc-tion environment torque between the self-locking clamping thin-walled sleeve and the straight shank cutting tool. There have been analyzed various existing designs of motor spindles and chucks that are used in high-speed metal machining. There has been considered an original cartridge, clamping and unclamping of which is performed by the self-locking thin-walled sleeve adjoined by a conical surface with a movable sleeve, which is set in motion relative to the clamping hub, a hydraulic cylinder, which is not part of the chuck. There have been presented analytical dependences and the algorithm for calculating the contact pressure between the conical surfaces of the bushings and between the cylindrical surfaces of the collet and the tool shank, depending on the supply pressure is supplied to the working chambers of the hydraulic (pneumatic) cylinders. There has been suggested a method of experimental determination in a production environment transformation ratio of the contact pressure from the mobile to the clamping sleeve.
